Junction Research

What can I remember about the Junctions?

1) How many performance spaces are here? What are each of then used for?

Junction 1 (The Stripe)
1050 capacity on club nights 850 capacity on live music nights The entire space was refurbished and upgraded in 2004.

Junction 2 (The Shed)
A modern and uniquely versatile 220 capacity timber clad theatre launched in March 2005. The Shed is purpose designed to present drama and small-scale dance.

Junction 4
A dedicated Rehearsal and Workshop auditorium equipped with fully sprung dance floor. The Education Room has the same footprint (floor area) as the stage in The Shed.

throughout the Junction there are three different performance areas, each one has been created for a different purpose. The main performance area 'The Stripe' is were the main performances are taken place as it has the largest amount of space. The second area is 'The Shed' this is an area in were a small dance performance or drama show is performed. The third area has been created in order for rehearsals and practice, it contains a similar floor size as the second area 'The Shed'.


2) What target audience do they cater for?

The Junction set up many different performances attracting a wide range of audience aging from the young generation to the older. Different performances are organized for the different age groups, for the younger generation gigs and different artist perform and for the older people that want come for some entertainment, but not to be jumping around, different dances and dramas are based in the theater room.

3) What do they do/offer that is different to other venues in cambridge?

The Junction have been presented to represent itself to a wide range of audience and hold a large number of different performances. Different nights are also made to appeal different age groups and allow all members of the public to participate in the events based throughout the Junction.
